A postsurgical evaluation of hemi-implant procedures at the first metatarsophalangeal joint: review and comparison of eighteen cases.

This presentation summarizes the results discovered on implantation surgery of 18 digits on 16 patients for correction of hallux limitus, or hallux rigidus. Of those studied, 66.7% received excellent and good results, 22.2% had fair results, and 11.1% had poor results. Comparison with the literature shows good correlation between studies and allows for quantification of the probability of positive returns on this form of surgery.
