Vertebrobasilar insufficiency is not an uncommon disorder. Five patients with vertebrobasilar syndrome due to stenosis of the vertebral artery at its origin from the subclavian artery were treated surgically by vertebrosubclavian angioplasty, with good results. When vertebral reconstruction is indicated, the results of operation are satisfactory.
