Coronary arteries of 129 patients dying at the age of 8 months to 82 years were studied. In children and adults up to 40 years a regular finding was muscular and elastic hyperplasia of the intima of different intensity at the site of which a fibrous-elastic layer was formed. Formation of the latter is one of the causes of severe stenoses of atherosclerotic coronary arteries. Thus, not only features of the atherosclerotic process but also the intensity of the fibrous-elastic layer in the intima are important in the pathogenesis of stenosis of coronary arteries.
对129例年龄在8个月至82岁之间死亡患者的冠状动脉进行了研究。在儿童和40岁以下的成年人中,常见的表现是不同强度的内膜肌肉和弹性增生,增生部位会形成纤维弹性层。后者的形成是动脉粥样硬化性冠状动脉严重狭窄的原因之一。因此,不仅动脉粥样硬化过程的特征,而且内膜中纤维弹性层的强度在冠状动脉狭窄的发病机制中都很重要。
