40 computer assisted tomographies of the vagina, the uterus and the ovaries were evaluated. The differential diagnosis between malignant and benign neoplasms is difficult unless there is spread into the soft tissues. The early diagnosis of ovarian neoplasms by axial computer assisted tomography is impossible. We are of the opinion that axial computer assisted tomography should be performed as early as possible in the diagnosis of local recurrences of malignant tumours of the female genital tract.
