Clinical, radiographic, and histological evaluation of porous rooted cobalt-chromium alloy dental implants.

Forty-five cobalt-chromium alloy porous rooted dental implants were placed in dogs. They were evaluated periodically over two years. The implants were successful one-third of the time. Failures occurred early (two months) or late (after six). Attempts to explain the failures, early and late, are made.
