Case report of a 12 year old girl with acute hepatic porphyria. The difficulties of diagnosis in childhood are discussed. No effective treatment is known. The importance of early diagnosis is emphasized, in order to avoid certain medicaments, stress situations etc., which can cause an acute attack of porphyria.
