Dental xeroradiography, a new imaging system designed specifically for intraoral use, provides a convenient, rapid, low-dose alternative to conventional film radiography. In this study the new imaging system was compared to conventional direct-exposure dental film technique for basic imaging characteristics of contrast, resolution, and noise. Dental xeroradiography proved to be a superior imaging system for demonstrating dental structures and did so at radiation doses one-third of those required for conventional dental (film) radiography.
牙科干板X线摄影术是一种专门为口腔内使用而设计的新型成像系统，它为传统胶片X线摄影提供了一种方便、快速、低剂量的替代方法。在本研究中，将这种新型成像系统与传统直接曝光牙科胶片技术在对比度、分辨率和噪声等基本成像特性方面进行了比较。结果证明，牙科干板X线摄影术在显示牙齿结构方面是一种更优越的成像系统，而且其辐射剂量仅为传统牙科（胶片）X线摄影所需剂量的三分之一。
