Two additional cases of the hypoglossia-hypodactylia syndrome are reported. The major features of this syndrome are a reduction in tongue size, micrognathia, and limb anomalies. The presence of these anomalies is essential for the diagnosis of this birth defect. The cause of the syndrome is unknown, but a number of theories have been proposed. Treatment of these cases has been directed toward improving tongue, lip, and mandibular function.
