The alkylesters of D,L-2-phenylglycine are spasmolytics with antiinflammatory activity. Their efficacy could be demonstrated against carrageenan, dextran and kaolin-induced edema in rats. The investigated compounds inhibit the granuloma development after local and systemic administration. Their effectiveness is comparable with that of phenylbutazone.
