[Roentgenological diagnosis and differential diagnosis of injuries of the upper cervical vertebral column (author's transl)].

Accurate differentiation of traumatic, inflammatory and congenital changes in the upper cervical vertebral column requires specific knowledge of the complex anatomic conditions in this segment of the spine, as well as of its embryological specialities and its regional pathology. This article deals with the analysis of the most important traumas of the upper cervical vertebral column and the relevant differential diagnosis.
