Optometric residency programs.

Residency programs are very new to the optometric profession. In order for optometry to continue its growth, Residency programs must attain its appropriate role in the development of the profession. A committee has been established to support the concept of specialized residency programs in many aspects of optometric care. Initial goals and objections of the committee as well as future endeavors are discussed.
