[Use of the Ilizarov apparatus in treating diaphyseal fractures of the leg bones in the middle-aged and elderly].

The results of the treatment of diaphysial fractures of the leg in 42 elderly and senile patients are mirrored in this paper. The details concerning the time and procedure of the application of the apparatus, the time of its demounting are set forth. Good results of the osteosynthesis by means of the Ilizarov's apparatus allow to recommend this method for a broad practical use.
