The formation of the humoral immune response in experimental rabbits to typhoid Vi-antigen and to sheep red blood cells was estimated from serum hemagglutinin titres. It was found to vary but insignificantly in the animals were immunized concurrently with the blocking of the hypothalamo-hypophysio-adrenocortical system induced by intraventricular administration of dexamethasone or during stimulation of this system due to a short-term stress. The results obtained show that relatively short-term changes in the plasma 11-HCS concentration cannot lead to significant disorders in the antibody production by the organism.
