A late complication of primarily pupillary lens implants is episodic blurring of vision. Twenty-nine patients described sudden blurring of vision lasting two to eight hours. Clinical signs of recurrent microscopic hypopyon also clearing within hours are described, as well as angiographic evidence of iris permeability in areas of contact between the lens implant and the anterior iris surface. Treatment is discussed. Age-related factors are suggested.
