24 patients with fractures of the femoral neck were younger than 65. Eight of them were operated on the day of the accident. The fractures of the other 16 patients were immediately reduced, the leg placed in traction and the operation carried out between 2 and 8 days later. Osteosynthesis was performed by means of cancellous bone screws without opening the joint. If this internal fixation was stable, the incidence of femoral head necrosis was reduced to one tenth. For fractures of the group Pauwels III this method was not suitable. Early reductions seems to be of more importance for the final results than immediate surgery.
24例股骨颈骨折患者年龄小于65岁。其中8例在事故当天接受手术。其他16例患者的骨折立即进行复位，腿部牵引，2至8天后进行手术。采用松质骨螺钉进行骨接合术，不打开关节。如果这种内固定稳定，股骨头坏死的发生率可降至十分之一。对于 Pauwels III组骨折，这种方法不合适。早期复位对最终结果似乎比立即手术更重要。
