The investigation revealed that arterial hypertension has a considerable spread. Its frequency is related to the age of persons examined, obesity and excessive use of table salt. As a result of active systematic prophylactic measures the number of effectively treated women increased over 2 times, in the group regularly treated efficacy of treatment reached 80.3%. Besides measures of the primary prophylaxis (control of work and rest periods, decrease of excessive weight, limitation of salt intake with food) have proved to be sufficiently effective in decreasing the number of newly registered cases of arterial hypertension.
