A new device for air admixture in an anaesthesia apparatus is described. An alternating switch from air to N2O, which precludes a simultaneous flow of both gases, is effected by a lever. Retrolental fibroplasia and toxic lung effects of 100% O2 in the premature and newborn infant are hopefully prevented.
