In the period from 1970 to 1980 78 patients with a verified space-occupying intracranial process were observed at the Neurological Clinic Görlitz. The patients are divided according to important characteristics: sex ratio (1:1), average age (just under 46 years), tumour types and the respective subdivision, initial symptoms (headache, Jacksonian attacks and walking disturbances), outcome of the disease (death of all patients suffering from malignant tumors or metastases, small number of re-integration into professional life). The necessity of an early diagnosis of intracranial space occupation and a stricter and better co-ordinated rehabilitation are pointed out.
