'Open' junctions in the venular plexuses of the bronchial microcirculation.

Between endothelial cells of the rat bronchial microcirculation freeze-fracture replicas reveal occluding junctions which are characteristic of the postcapillary venules according to their morphology. The substructural organization of these junctions is assumed to reflect functional features of the venular plexuses which are known to be sensitive to vasoactive agents.
