The authors observed collapses during operations under narcosis resulting from the adrenal insufficiency in 0,75% of the operated patients. Patients with the potential adrenal insufficiency were detected by means of laboratory and clinical investigations. In order to prevent its development before, during and after the operation a substituting therapy with hydrocortisone was carried out.
