The fundamental principles and the practical application of cryosurgery are described. Our experiences based on approximately 600 epitheliomas have shown that cryosurgery is a therapeutic tool well suited for the dermatological practice. The healing rate of cutaneous neoplasms is 94% and equals that of other modalities. The indications and contraindications as well as the side effects are discussed.
