Superficial punctate keratitis of Thygeson.

Superficial punctate keratitis of Thygeson is a distinctive clinical entity, of probable viral etiology, that can be managed by the optometrist. Diagnosis is made on clinical impression and elimination of other possible causes. The chronic course of the disease can be successfully subdued to allow the patient to function with minimal symptomatology. I know of no statistics on the incidence in the general population, however, I have been surprised by the occurrence in my own practice.
