People develop their sense of self and their interpersonal skills in their families of origin. Omitting any focus on the family of origin in training removes a tremendously useful learning resource. The dilemma for the teacher is to find the boundary between teaching and therapy. The author describes her approach and suggests how it can be kept within a teaching framework, be case related and unintrusive.
