Abstract

Under laboratory conditions, snail Indoplanorbis exustus exhibited a strongly positive linear correlationship between duration of desiccation to mortality and body-weight loss and also body-weight loss to mortality. The adult stage of snail is highly resistant to desiccation, whereas the juvenile stage is highly susceptible. Reasons for decrease in susceptibility to desiccation with increase in shell diameter were suggested.

在实验室条件下,蜗牛印度扁卷螺的干燥至死亡持续时间与体重损失以及体重损失与死亡率之间呈现出强烈的正线性相关关系。蜗牛的成年阶段对干燥具有高度抗性,而幼年阶段则高度敏感。文中提出了随着壳直径增加干燥敏感性降低的原因。
