A total of 160 patients with natal lesions of the spinal cord were examined by EMG. Of them 34 subjects showed lesions in the cervical part. The clinical data were compared with EMG findings. EMG changes, typical for anterior horn localization (II type of EMG) were found in the position of rest in 41.1% of the cases, while in synergy and voluntary movements in 70.6%. The author considers EMG an important and perspective method of examining children with natal spinal lesions.
