[Growth of the pelvis following pelvic osteotomy by the Chiari technic].

A Chiari pelvic osteotomy results in a medical displacement of the hip joint and a bony abutment cranio-lateral of the femoral head. Observations on patients show that in most cases the medial displacement of the hip joint will be completely compensated by the postoperative growth of the pelvis. Similar to revalgisation of the femoral neck following varisation osteotomy thus the pelvis shows a tendency to restore the preoperative geometrical configuration by means of adaptive bone remodeling.
