[Duration of postoperative work disability in patients after operations for gastroduodenal ulcer].

1633 patients underwent partial gastrectomy (B I and B II) from 1966 to 1980 and since 3 years 236 patients have undergone selective proximal vagotomy. 80% of these patients were cared postoperatively very close in a special outpatient service. Average out of work time after partial gastrectomy, as like vagotomy, came up to 60 days. This time of inability to work is dependent on the patients' age, additional diseases, postsurgical complications, social level, and last not least on the patients themselves.
