The effect of IV and aerosol bradykinin on the lung quasistatic pressure volume curves, dynamic compliance, total pulmonary resistance, alveolar-arterial oxygen difference, and blood gas tensions was determined in anesthetized, ventilated neonatal calves. Bradykinin given by either route had no effect on these measures. Intravenous bradykinin caused pulmonary and systemic hypotension, but no change in hematocrit or total solids. Aerosol bradykinin had no cardiovascular effects.
