Interpretation of double contrast arthrography in lesions of the menisci of the knee joint.

This paper deals with certain difficulties in the interpretation of arthrography of the knee performed because of suspected lesions of the menisci. On the basis of experience acquired in 197 double contrast arthrographies using fluoroscopic techniques, combined with a study of sections made in six cadaver knees, some interesting correlations between the anatomical and arthrographic appearances are illustrated. By taking these into consideration it is possible to improve still further the already good diagnostic accuracy of this method of investigation.
