Four cystinuric patients (3 females and 1 male) with recurrent L-cystine stone formation were treated with alpha-mercaptopropionyl glycine (MPG). In one patient the treatment was stopped because of a rash developing after one week of treatment. In the other 3 patients MPG was found to be as effective as penicillamine in lowering the urinary cystine excretion to safe levels. No serious side effects of the drug were recorded.
4例（3女1男）复发性L-胱氨酸结石形成的胱氨酸尿症患者接受了α-巯基丙酰甘氨酸（MPG）治疗。1例患者在治疗1周后因出现皮疹而停止治疗。在其他3例患者中，发现MPG在将尿胱氨酸排泄降低至安全水平方面与青霉胺同样有效。未记录到该药物的严重副作用。
