Report of the case of a 12-year-old boy who had died due to a massive basal subarachnoid hemorrhage after moderate fight with a class mate. Findings at autopsy and by microscopic examination indicated that a lesion in the system of the great vein of Galen and the internal cerebral veins might have been the source of the bleeding. The nature of an underlying pre-existing vascular change favoring a rupture is discussed on the basis of the clinical history and the pathoanatomic findings.
