A neuropsychological analysis was performed of voluntary movements and actions, of the visual and auditory gnosis, memory and speech in children aged 4-7 years in acute serous meningitis. The results demonstrated certain defects in mental functions, especially distinct in the acute period of the disease. The data obtained indicate functional disturbances in the frontal and intraparietal associative areas of the neocortex. Despite a clinical recovery, most of the children showed no complete normalization of the higher nervous activity.
