A comparative study of the spontaneous fluctuations with the results of the glycerol test leads us to the conclusion that the observation and measurement of these fluctuations during a follow-up, give us a more reliable evaluation of the fluctuant characteristic of the hearing than does the glycerol test. Indeed the positivity of the latter is highly dependent on form fortuitous level of the audiometric curve at the moment the test is performed. In this way, we cannot thrust upon the negativity of the test in order to rule out a possible fluctuation of hearing.
