The formation of polyunsaturated fatty acids is influenced by vitamin E. The enzyme of the endoplasmic reticulum isolated from rat liver responsible for chain elongation and desaturation showed higher activity under vitamin E-deficiency. The activity was raised both per mg protein and per mg DNA. The application of alpha-Tocopherol to the vitamin E-deficient animals caused the normalization of the enzyme activity within 48 hours. This indicates a regulatory function of alpha-Tocopherol in the process of oxidation.
多不饱和脂肪酸的形成受维生素E影响。从大鼠肝脏分离出的负责链延长和去饱和的内质网酶,在维生素E缺乏的情况下活性更高。每毫克蛋白质和每毫克DNA的活性均有所提高。给维生素E缺乏的动物施用α-生育酚,48小时内酶活性恢复正常。这表明α-生育酚在氧化过程中具有调节功能。
