[Training of community health aides by means of a self-instruction "package"].

This paper describes the results of a teaching experiment carried out in the state of Querétaro, Mexico, in which a self-teaching "package" was used to train community workers in basic concepts of health education. This teaching method was used as a practical educational device that offered training which, while rapid, was based on principles of educational technology. It was shown that the system was useful for the acquisition of information applicable to primary health care activities and could also find application in other areas of public health.
