Six patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and avascular necrosis of the femoral head were treated by total hip arthroplasty (THA). The primary indication for surgery was persistent hip pain despite conservative therapy. Postoperatively, pain was relieved with corresponding improvement in range of motion in all six patients. There were no serious complications. At follow-up ranging from 23 to 76 months after surgery there was no recurrence of hip pain. These results suggest that THA is indicated in selected SLE patients.
六例系统性红斑狼疮合并股骨头缺血性坏死患者接受了全髋关节置换术（THA）治疗。手术的主要指征是尽管进行了保守治疗，但髋关节仍持续疼痛。术后，所有六例患者的疼痛均得到缓解，关节活动范围相应改善。未出现严重并发症。术后23至76个月的随访期间，未出现髋关节疼痛复发。这些结果表明，全髋关节置换术适用于特定的系统性红斑狼疮患者。
