[Registry data on acute myocardial infarct in Kaunas].

An analysis of the register data on acute myocardial infarction in Kaunas is made covering the period of 1969-1979. The results show the increase in the incidence of acute myocardial infarction over the period studied from 1.0 to 1.67 per 1000 population and the decrease in the general mortality from 46.0 to 30.4%. The decrease in the general mortality is due to the organizational methods and the improvement of the diagnosis and treatment.
