Abstract
The occurrence of single stress fractures after Keller arthroplasties has been documented. This paper presents a case of sequential stress fractures of metatarsals two and three after Keller arthroplasty with hemi-phalangeal implant. It is the author's view that failure to recognize and properly treat the fracture of the second metatarsal led to the additional fracture of the third metatarsal. Furthermore, the use of a nonrigid orthotic with metatarsal padding is recommended postoperatively to decrease the probability of this complication.

已有文献记载凯勒关节成形术后发生单发性应力性骨折的情况。本文介绍了一例采用半趾骨植入物的凯勒关节成形术后第二和第三跖骨相继发生应力性骨折的病例。作者认为，未能识别和正确治疗第二跖骨骨折导致了第三跖骨的额外骨折。此外，建议术后使用带有跖骨衬垫的非刚性矫形器，以降低这种并发症的发生概率。
