In 1965 Mali and Kuiper described acro-angiodermatitis or pseudo Kaposi. From clinical and histological viewpoints pseudo Kaposi looks exactly like Kaposi angiosarcoma. From a pathogenic viewpoint the authors describe pseudo Kaposi as a long term complication of chronic venous insufficiency. Other authors have described the existence of arterio-venous shunts. Mali and Kuiper have studied pseudo Kaposi with mercury gauge pletysmography. In conclusion the patients with pseudo Kaposi present an insufficiency not only of the muscular pump of the calf but also of the venous pump of the foot.
