[The versatile surgical possibilities to treat an established facial paralysis (author's transl)].

The time interval between the onset of the paralysis and the beginning of treatment based on the diagnostic preoperative data determines the course of treatment. The author describes the versatile surgical possibilities which comprise muscle flaps, nerve grafts, hypoglossal-facial nerve anastomoses or a combination of these techniques.
