The alkaloid-synthesizing activity of the saprophytic Claviceps purpurea strains was variable. This fact was partly due to different requirements of the cultures to nutritional conditions. Not only single strains, but also formation of intra- and extracellular alkaloids differed in this respect. In case of extracellular alkaloids, the influence of medium was more expressive. A positive correlation between accumulation of cell polysaccharides and the level of intracellular alkaloids was evident. Constant or decreasing cell proteins were favourable for alkaloid formation.
腐生的麦角菌菌株的生物碱合成活性是可变的。这一事实部分归因于培养物对营养条件的不同需求。不仅单个菌株,而且细胞内和细胞外生物碱的形成在这方面也有所不同。就细胞外生物碱而言,培养基的影响更为显著。细胞多糖的积累与细胞内生物碱水平之间存在明显的正相关。细胞蛋白质保持恒定或减少有利于生物碱的形成。
