This glossary of the complications of carcinoma of the cervix was evaluated by the review of more than 1 000 medical records at the Gustave-Roussy Institute. It is the fruit of the practical experience over several years of a team combining of the disciplines of radiotherapy, surgery, gynaecology and computer techniques. It has no pretense at universality. It greatly simplifies, and always in terms of practice and not theory. It was established for the purpose of computerised recording and hence statistical study. It is inadequate for detailed studies in depth of individual complications.
