With metacercariae encysted naturally in the visceral cavity of Megadytes glauca-larvae (Dityscidae), day old unfed chicken and a Belonopterus cayennensis were infected and adults of Stomylotrema vicarium Braun, 1901 obtained. Metacercariae and adults have an excretory bladder with lateral ramifications and 4 groups of 10, exceptionally 12 flame cells on each body side. Very young metacercariae without cysts presented a big stylet. A corresponding virgula-cercaria in Ampullaria canaliculata is supposed.
将自然包囊于黄斑龙虱幼虫（龙虱科）内脏腔中的尾蚴，感染一日龄未喂食的雏鸡和卡宴长吻鱼，获得了1901年布劳恩描述的维卡里口吸虫成虫。尾蚴和成虫都有一个具侧分支的排泄囊，身体两侧各有4组，每组10个，偶尔12个焰细胞。非常幼小的未包囊尾蚴有一个大的口针。推测在福寿螺中有相应的纤毛尾蚴。
