Reliability of radiologic diagnosis in colitis.

Eight-five patients with inflammatory large bowel disease were reviewed. The reliability of several diagnostic criteria was assessed. Using a single contrast barium technique, with strict attention to these criteria, 90% diagnostic accuracy in ulcerative colitis and Crohn's diseease of the colon was possible.
