Abstract
In the seven years since the first examinations for Membership of the Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists were held in 1970, there were 593 applications from 370 candidates. The information from these applications has been analyzed in detail, and compared with the applicants' examination performances. Certain pattern emerge, but assessment of the quantitative importance of these is dependent on further studies.
