Haemodynamics in the horse: 3. Duration of the phases of the cardiac cycle.

The paper reports observations on the duration of various phases of the cardiac cycle using a bipole ECG record as a time base from which to measure the timing of pressure changes in the chambers of the heart and great vessels. From the findings the likely sequence of mechanical events during the cardiac cycle in the atria and ventricles is described.
