We have added another case of duplication of the gallbladder to the 207 collected cases reviewed by Harlaftis et al. It is the first case in which separate drainage into the duodenum is clearly established. Development from a separate diverticulum of the embryonic foregut is proposed by the authors. We agree with other authors that when multiple gallbladders found during rountine intra-abdominal exploration present no symptoms attributable to the biliary tract, no treatment is required. We also agree that any multiple organ found to be pathologic should be removed.
