The histophysiology of adrenals has been studied in the model of high strangulation acute ileus. Dramatic inhibition of the enzymatic system activity has been revealed as well at the development of acute adrenal insufficiency in the early terms of acute ileus. The terminal period (30--38 hours) is characterized by total necrosis of the adrenals.
