A 61-year-old man presented with an eruption of papulonodular lesions on the glans and discharging bilateral inguinal lymphadenopathy. The lesions sprang up as a consequence of urethral dilatations. Mycobacterium chelonei was isolated from the inguinal discharge, while acid-fast bacteria were detected microscopically in a biopsied nodule. The pathogenesis of this infection is discussed.
