The current relative importance of nyeloscintigraphy is determined on the basis of more than 1,000 examinations over a period of ten years. Owing to its high sensivity the method is suited to early diagnosis and diagnosis by elimination for growing and displacing spinal processes and affections of the cerebrospinal fluid passage. In the case of pathological disturbances, the lack of specificness in the findings, especially in the cervical region, indicates further systematic contrast medium examinations.
